Blackgate has been around since 2019.

We, Felix and Josh, started watching horror movies as teenagers and reshooting them with our friends. Today, we film and direct short films, commercials, music videos and documentaries. We delve into modern and popular art, the hardcore punk scene, contemporary dance and body modification.
At our first festival participation, we won a signed „Todesking“ box and had a beer with Jörg Buttgereit in the lobby, still a highlight to this day. „Porzellan“ (2021) screened at the Luxfilmfest and the Biberacher Filmfestspiele, while „Aquarium“ (2023) was featured at Créajeune and won the second Trier Filmfest.
We are a Director & DoP Duo, passionate in directing and filming our own and our client’s work. We adore old and weird Eastern Bloc lenses and no longer bother making our own fake blood.
